Forms Like Christ & His Disciples - (2019) Graphite, Paper
Form Like Christ & His Disciples develops from the spatial languages that begin to emerge in Three Horizons, moving toward a more defined compositional structure. Here, composition is accepted as inevitable—an inherent condition of perception rather than a constraint to be resisted.
The drawing is loosely structured through the rule of thirds, guiding lines across the frame without fixing their meaning. The spatial movements are not driven by logic or quantifiable intention, but remain open to invite interpretation rather than resolution.
While the drawing suggests a centre, it avoids a fixed midpoint. Instead, a sequence of twelve column-like projections act as a loose anchor within the frame, supporting multiple overlapping elements without resolving into a fixed configuration.
The frame holds together moments of clarity and instability, where structure begins to emerge but remains unsettled. It marks a point of transition by suggests a more focused sense of direction, while retaining openness to further synthesis.
