Façade

Unlike Chimney, Façade begins from a blank state, without any predefined element or external reference to act as a catalyst. Instead, the drawing develops through an open navigation, allowing forms to emerge without a fixed point of reference.

Using oblique projection, the work introduces planes that directly face outward of the papers surface suggesting a configuration without fully resolving into a stable structure. Moments of inconsistency and rupture disrupt this possibility, preventing the drawing from settling into a coherent register.

Despite its open beginning, a sense of enclosure is established. Like in Chimney, the frame reappears indirectly—defined not by solid edges, but by the limits of the space the drawing occupies. As the drawing negotiates between openness and the echo of the frame, Façade reveals structure will emerge even in the absence of intention.
